Useful phrases in Greek: Greetings

The most common way to say hello in Greek is "γεια σου" (yia sou), which literally means "health to you". You can use this phrase to greet anyone, regardless of the time of day or the level of formality.

If you want to be more polite, you can say "γεια σας" (yia sas), which is the plural form and also means "health to you". You can use this phrase to greet a group of people, or a single person who is older or more respected than you.

Another way to say hello in Greek is "καλημέρα" (kalimera), which means "good day". You can use this phrase in the morning or early afternoon, until about 2 pm.

If you want to wish someone a good afternoon, you can say "καλησπέρα" (kalispera), which means "good evening". You can use this phrase from 2 pm until sunset.
